Dr. Wasan is Board-Certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is also Board-Certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wasan grew up in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and completed his Undergraduate studies at Queen’s University graduating with a Bachelor of Sciences, Honors degree in Life Sciences. During his undergraduate years, he spent two summers performing research in the Division of Cell Biology at the prestigious The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario.
He then attended The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio where he received his Medical Degree.
Subsequently, he completed his Internship and Residency at The University of Texas Medical School/MD Anderson Cancer Center at Houston in Internal Medicine
Dr. Wasan then went on to complete his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at The University of Texas Medical School/MD Anderson Cancer Center at Houston. During his last year of fellowship he was chief fellow and received the Stirling Award for Top Fellow.
He then moved to the Northern Virginia area in 2005 joining a Gastroenterology practice in Leesburg and then started his own practice in early 2008 which he has continued to maintain serving Loudoun county and neighboring areas.
He is a current member of the American Gastroenterological Association. He has multiple scientific publications from his studies as an undergraduate student and during his Gastroenterology training.
He was featured in the Northern Virginia Magazine in 2010 and was awarded a Top Doctor designation in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
